    UCLA Bruin Ambassador Program Application


    Thank you for your interest in joining the Bruin Ambassador Program! The Bruin Ambassador Program is a student employment opportunity within the Office of UCLA Undergraduate Admission, and Ambassadors serve as official representatives of the university in recruitment and outreach efforts. As a Bruin Ambassador, you will play a direct and meaningful role in supporting Undergraduate Admission by engaging with prospective students, families, counselors, and community partners locally and throughout Southern California.

    This position offers a unique opportunity to develop professional skills, gain experience in higher education and recruitment, and grow as a leader while working closely with the Undergraduate Admission team. We seek current UCLA undergraduate students who are enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about sharing their Bruin experience and representing UCLA.

    Please carefully review the following information regarding eligibility and responsibilities before applying.
     
    Eligibility: 

    • Continuing undergraduate students
    • Full time UCLA undergraduate student status (enrolled in a minimum of 12 units) 
    • Good academic standing (maintaining at least 2.5 overall GPA) 
    • Available to work a minimum of 3-9 hours per week depending on the Quarter and week (excluding university holidays and campus closures – winter break) 
    • The Bruin Ambassador Program cannot hire students who are concurrently employed as Residential Advisors (RAs) through the Office of Residential Life
    • Students graduating or studying abroad in Fall of 2026 are not eligible to apply
    • A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application or no later than August 1, as travel to off-campus recruitment events is required
    • If hired, you will need ORIGINAL PHYSICAL DOCUMENTS of the following for an HR Appointment during Week 9 of Winter Quarter:  
      • Photo ID
      • Official Passport OR Social Security Card 
      • I9
        • If you are bringing a document from List A, no additional documents from list B or C are required. 
        • If you are bringing a document from List B, it MUST be accompanied by a document from List C. 
    The pay rate is $17.90 per hour.

    Onboarding * 

    The onboarding process will begin in August and will require you to visit campus to meet with HR and complete a background screening. You will have until the week before our Fall training to complete this. 

    Fall Training *

    We will conduct a virtual training at the beginning of September and will have two in person days during Week 0 of Fall Quarter

    Required Responsibilities: 

    • Be available to conduct and facilitate 2-3 school visits per quarter 
      • Based on your availability 
      • Number of schools assigned vary year by 
    • Be available to conduct and facilitate minimum 2 college fairs per quarter 
      • Based on your availability 
    • Be available to staff minimum 3 check-in shifts per quarter, check-in shifts offered: 
      • Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM 
      • Monday – Friday 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM 
      • Saturday 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM 
    • One office hour per week (projects, updates on requirements, respond to emails/communications, and other duties as assigned) 
    • Attend mandatory bi-weekly staff meetings (Tuesdays from 6:00 - 7:00 PM; exceptions will be made for class scheduling conflicts) 
    • Attend mandatory annual trainings
    • Assist Undergraduate Admission with on-campus events, such as tour presentations, student panels, workshops, live-chat sessions, social media projects, and special events (First-Year/Transfer Bruin Day, STOMP Conference, Cub Day, etc.)
