Academic
The Academic Advancement Program (AAP) is the nation’s largest university-based student diversity program. AAP has enjoyed a tradition of academic excellence at UCLA for over 40 years and supports current students with academic advising, graduate school preparation, tutoring, and leadership opportunities.
The Academic Supports Program (ASP) is the retention project of the Afrikan Student Union at UCLA. ASP is a student-initiated and student-run program designed to facilitate the growth of students within the Afrikan diaspora. Services include academic goal planning, study techniques, post-grad planning, financial resources, personal counseling, stress and time management, academic counseling, internships, mentorships, and more!
Research sponsored and conducted by the Bunche Center is multidisciplinary in scope and spans the humanities, social sciences, fine arts, and several professional schools. The Bunche Center is home to the UCLA Black Male Institute, Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice & Health, UCLA Prison Education Program, Million Dollar Hood, and several scholarships.
The Center for Scholarships & Scholar Enrichment helps UCLA students identify and apply for scholarships. We offer workshops, individual counseling, and other resources.
Professional
The Career Center is a free a powerful resource for students to receive career counseling, resume support, mock interviews, and internship opportunities.
The Black Business Student Association is a student-run organization dedicated to uniting the business leaders of tomorrow with the opportunities that are made available today.
Startup UCLA provides a collaborative and innovative space for future entrepreneurs to receive the necessary resources for a successful launch. Perfect for students with an idea or a small business.
The Black Pre-Law Association is a collection of empowered leaders who stand to eradicate the inequities that exist within laws and institutions in the United States.
Well Being
The Afrikan Diaspora Living Learning Community provides a family-oriented and cultural environment for Black Bruins living on campus in the Residential Community.
The Food Closet is located in the Student Activities Center and provides free food to students in need.
UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services is a free resource for students in need of temporary counseling or emotional support.
The Black Wellness Lounge is a space located in the African American Studies (AFAM) department and provides free snacks, coffee, and tea.
The mission of the Black Bruin Resource Center (BBRC) is to uplift, support, and inspire the UCLA Black and African Diaspora Community. With the goal of cultivating community, family, and power, the UCLA BBRC serves as a space the community can call home.
